NIMS Medicity, established in 2005 by Dr. A.P. Majeed Khan, is a manifestation of his lifelong vision to bring world-class healthcare within the reach of rural and underprivileged communities. Guided by the belief that “a healthy nation is a wealthy nation,” NIMS Medicity was conceived to address the long-standing disparity between urban and rural healthcare access in India. Located in the rural heart of Neyyattinkara, it was founded to serve the healthcare needs of the people of South Kerala and adjoining regions of Tamil Nadu—providing them with advanced medical care close to home.
In line with the World Health Organization’s vision that defines health policy as “decisions, plans, and actions undertaken to achieve specific health care goals within a society,” NIMS Medicity reflects the mission articulated by the Chairman through his son, Shri M.S. Faizal Khan—”to provide high-quality integrated health care with unrelenting attention to clinical excellence, patient safety, and unparalleled passion and commitment, assuring access for the entire society to quality health care, regardless of ability to pay.”

The Foundation That Guides Every Step We Take
NIMS Medicity houses eight independent Intensive Care Units (ICUs), including a Medical ICU, a 12-bedded Coronary ICU, an 8-bedded Cardiothoracic ICU, a 14-bedded General Medicine ICU, a 15-bedded Neonatal ICU, a 12-bedded Surgical ICU, a 4-bedded Nephrology ICU, along with dedicated Transplantation and Advanced Neurosurgery ICUs.
